People who keep reptiles and/or amphibians(herps) enjoy unusual pets, and they enjoy finding out more about them.  Hopefully, by coming here you will be able to learn things that you never knew before. 

Thinking about getting a herp or have become the unexpected owner of one?  This website should help you out.  It is devoted to providing information on the care, feeding and well-being of your herps as well as interesting information and design ideas for your tank set-ups. 

Many herps die within their first year as a result of neglect or a misunderstanding of their needs.  For those that we choose to keep as pets, we owe then the courtesy of learning everything we can for them to live a healthy and happy life.

Please keep in mind that the information given on care and feeding is not the only right way.  What would work on one animal might not necessarily work on another.  Also where you live affects your herp care; a crested gecko that does well with normal household temperatures might not do well in Alaska without some special heating.
